Annette Lee, such a talented lady, was demonstrating different technics. Lots of crafty friends and Cake. Mmmm, They had  talked me into baking carrot cake which I had never made before but it seemed Ok and went down well. ( I havent heard of anyone being ill yet)

This week I have started makeing some samples for Suzicraft  and so far so good but getting the Christmas head on doesnt seem real when we havent even had summer yet. but hey ho so much for the British weather.

Just because I could!

Well I was going to say good afternoon but it isnt, dull and horrible drizzle. Not fair when down south they are having sunshine and heat. Never mind I suppose its a good excuse to craft. ( Not that I need one).

The next card I am going to post is a one I began late last night and finished early this morning. No reason, Just because I could.

I thought that I would have a lovely play with some of my splodge away masks and see what happens. This is the end result.

Tara for nowx

Tuesday 24 July 2012

Hi everyone. Well I managed to set up my blog ( just needs to be prettied up a bit) but have been such a busy girl I havent had time to come back on. My sister in law come up from Sussex last Thursday and on Friday my hubby and I spent the day with her in whitby. Great day out. Nice weather and went the scenic root so saw lots of lovely countryside.

Saturday was spent at my favourite shop Suzicraft in Stockton. Home of the Splodge Away mat and masks. Lovely time with friends but didnt do much crafting as the tirant of an owner got us working.lol. Had a fab time.

Sunday another day with hubby and sister in law Catherine. Well that was a day. If you asked me where we didnt go it might be easier to answer. Started at Seaham. Tea and toasted tea cake outside of a lovely shop on sea front. While we were there the red arrows did there display at the Sunderland Air Show and we had a great view down the coast.

From there we went to Hardwick Park and had a walk and picnic. This is a beautiful place to go if you live near,

Next was Sedgefield where there was a fete on the village green. Had teas in Ceddesfield Hall.

It didnt end there. On to  Hartlepool Marina and a look around the Museum followed by a walk around the Marina stopping for yes if you know me you have guessed it - another cup of tea sitting outside another cafe looking over the yachts in gorgeous sunshine.

Then home shattered but happy.

Monday was chill day and today I went to Newcastle Station to wave Catherine goodbye as she headed home.

Thats all for today folks.

Happy Craftin and take care.x

Well I think I am getting the hang of this blog thing so here goes another 8x8 card.

Briefly this card was created by Useing a Splodge Away mask of dots distressing the edges( useing my fabulous Splodge away mat) with Tim Holtz distress Inks. I have then embossed a Splodge away mask on brown card useing my Grand Calibur. I have then carefully cut it out and mounted it onto the dotty card. To the bottom right i have added three cogs again embossed with splodge Away masks. To complete the card I have stamped a greeting and pocket watch. These are joined by a chain crocheted out of bakers twine.

You may be thinking Splodge Away well yes I am a self confessed Spodge Aholic. The mat is just amazing for useing all your inks to blend and distress and you use every last drop of ink.

I am going to finish off today by adding some other cards and a little piece of artwork that I am particularly proud of. this was made at an Annette Leigh workshop and I had never done anything like this before.

Bye for nowxx
Hi well this is the start of my blogging. I am a person who has crafted all my like but have been paper crafting for - well I cant remember how long. Certainly before all these lovely craft shops were on the scene. However did I manage!

The aim of my blog is to record and share with any one of a like mind my little pieces of artwork and to share hints and tips.

As often as possible I will post some of my creations with a little summary of how it was achieved.

My first card is a wedding card made with Chloe Stamps on an 8x8 card. I have cut a piece og gold mirri card slightly smaller and then cut out a piece of Splodge Away elegance card slightly smaller again. After randomly stamping  and then embossing with gold embossing powder I have matted the stamped Elegance card onto the gold mirriwrapped around the lower half of the card a satin ribbon and tied in a bow. That was then moiunted onto the 8x8 card.
On another piece of splodge away elegance card I have stamped the feather heart and again embossed in gold.  The Mr& Mrs and bow were then stamped oin a seperat piece of card cut out and placed onto heart with foam pads. This little piece was then all mounted onto gold mirri and glued to top right of card. Job done!
